“Confessions of an Instant Messenger” is completely right. Teenagers and kids spend way too much time talking to each other online. They never go anywhere. They especially talk online when they shouldn’t, like after they are supposed to be in bed. When it comes down to an interview and resume for them to get a job, they won’t know how to communicate their ideas in the correct way, and they will not be able to relate to people.
“Confessions of an Instant Messanger” was all to familiar for me. I almost felt as if i could have written this article. Many of the things mentioned i have been stressing over for many years. I conpletely agree that the internet, blogs, etc. are becoming a source for lack of human interaction. I feel that many of my friends are already socially handicapped because rather than pick up the phone and share a few words with me, they choose to send me an encoded message full of “lol”s and “ttyl”s. To tell the truth this issue of social interaction in my generation gets me quite frustrated and even mad! I am tired of the internet furthering the gap of socail and intelligent communication among people!!
